We are a local, grassroots organization dedicated to a simple but powerful goal: bridging the gap for students and teachers in Title 1 schools across the Phoenix East Valley. We believe every child deserves access to enriching educational experiences and every teacher should have the resources they need to foster a love of learning.
The challenge in underfunded schools is real. From basic classroom supplies to funding for art programs, field trips, and technology, the need is constant. That’s where our creative community steps in.

Imagine trying to do your job without the right tools. For students in under-resourced Title I schools, this is a daily reality. A missing calculator can turn homework from an opportunity into an obstacle. The absence of pencils adds to the challenge. Sharing a single textbook makes it even more difficult. At Creative Purpose Tempe, we believe every child deserves the simple, essential tools to learn and thrive.
Our mission is straightforward but powerful. We aim to empower students in Title I schools to reach their full potential. We do this by providing the tangible resources they need to succeed. We directly address the “homework gap” that disproportionately affects students from low-income families.
So, how does it work? We create and sell high-quality, teacher-themed merchandise—think stylish t-shirts, durable tote bags, and your new favorite coffee mug. Every purchase fuels our mission, as 100% of the proceeds are dedicated to student support.
These funds allow us to create teacher-curated “homework kits.” These aren’t generic supplies; they are thoughtfully assembled based on what teachers know their specific students lack. But we go a step further. For every dozen kits we provide, that teacher also receives an item from their classroom essentials list, up to $150. Plus, we ensure consumable items are replenished all year long.
This creates a powerful cycle. You get a product you love. A teacher gets vital supplies for their classroom. Students receive personalized kits that remove barriers to learning. It’s community support in its purest form.

What Your Donation Achieves
What do your donations give for both students and teachers? At the start of the school year, many organizations offer donations to students, supplying everything from backpacks to haircuts. But, much like food pantries that are stocked for Thanksgiving and Christmas, these donations often run out quickly. The pantry becomes bare after just a few weeks.
Creative Purpose Tempe decided to take a different approach. While our “Homework Kits” are distributed after the school year begins, we wait. We wait until students and teachers have settled into their routines. Then, we show the items we have. This allows us to accurately assess needs and tailor our donations to the specific wants of the schools. Some donations are labeled as “sponsorship,” which enables us to replenish the kits throughout the entire school year.
For teachers, we provide “classroom essentials” just as their allocated funds begin to deplete. We aim to prevent teachers from incurring out-of-pocket expenses for the resources they need. Teachers can do what they do best: educate their students. They help students reach their full potential in ways that suit their individual learning styles. We strive to support students and teachers in achieving their goals—one shirt at a time. And for your help through volunteering, gifts and donations.
